Photographer's Note
A shot of the famous "chicago bean", officially called the cloud gate.
Cloud Gate is British artist Anish Kapoor's first public outdoor work installed in the United States. The 110-ton elliptical sculpture is forged of a seamless series of highly polished stainless steel plates, which reflect the city's famous skyline and the clouds above. A 12-foot-high arch provides a "gate" to the concave chamber beneath the sculpture, inviting visitors to touch its mirror-like surface and see their image reflected back from a variety of perspectives.
Inspired by liquid mercury, the sculpture is among the largest of its kind in the world, measuring 66-feet long by 33-feet high. Cloud Gate sits upon the At&T Plaza, which was made possible by a gift from AT&T.

Hi Shaeri,
you did well here using the reflections to create a different kind of compo and using the pov and the distorsion to "desappear" from the scene. Good quality throughout, good shot!

Hi Shaeri,
You posted a photo of my favourite sculpture in Chicago, where I had a lot of fun, by making photos under the cloud. I posted one of them a few months ago.
I like your composition, where we can see all these tourists trying to find out the best pov. And there are plenty of possibilities here!
Well done.

Hi Sheri,
You caught a funny and very interesting scene while many visitors are enjoying to look their reflection on monster, artificial bean. It's a great idea and gift too for inhabitants. I like it a lot. Your frame is pure sharp with many, funny reflections of busy square on it perfectly. Congratulations.

Hi Shaeri. Thanks for sharing this shot. I had a plan to go for it on my way from DC to Denver when I stopped over at Chicago. But couldn't make it. Good to see here with nice details. Optical illusion is the catch here. Well composed. Great. Regards.

hi Shaeri
Surely this is very unique creative by the artist and the view off the reflective surface will ever be changing, that is the beauty. A very suitable sculpture project for urban environment, must be a large visitor draw. I would only guess what will be the surface and view like when it rains?
Nice capture and good for you to share it with us. I like the reflected buildings and the 'skyline' within a skyline image.

Hi Shaeri,
An intriguing art work, which despite its big dimensions, has a nice elegance. You did an admirable capture of it, choosing a good POV that puts a very nice reflection on it and at the same time showing the different reactions of people to the sculpture. It's curious how you dissimulated yourself, I guess by taking advantage of the unpredictable distortions provoked by the shape of the surface.
Regards, José.

hello Shaeri,
the more I look at the photos of this "bean", the more I think I have to go and take a look at it muself, it seems to offer endless photo opportunities :) here I quite like how you show people interacting with the artwork, and the twisted reflection of the famous skyline adds a "behind the mirrors" magic mood. nice one :)

Dear Shaeri
Nice picture of what’s now the most photographed object in Chicago. So many pictures in TE itself, of which I think the best is this. Your entry is also nice…actually the reflections are quite awesome. Was there a possibility not to have those highrises in the BG in the frame at all?
Best Wishes

Hi Shaeri,
This is a really fantastic photo! What a superb reflection in this large bean. Great to see the skyline of the city and the life on the square in the reflection and also so nicely distorted. You had perfect conditions too, fine light and a nice blue sky. Good inclusion of the other photographers too. Thanks a lot for sharing!

Hi, Shaeri -
I see you got your bean! You had better weather than I did, and you did a very good job with it. This angle shows the shape and the people both under it and in the reflection, and also the surrounding buildings, all without overshadowing or blowing out. (Well, except for that one spot.) Nice job!
Best,

Amusing to see the reflections and distortions, I guess you must be somewhere in that sphere but impossible to spot you !
Nice and playful, it's always great to observe the crowds in cities but of course the expressions here are not as great as your last photos - still, a great "city scape", in an alternative way...
Best regards,
Cath.
