ENGLISH: This is part of Circular Quay and behind it the Central Business District of Sydney. To the left of the frame is the Opera House, but I decided to crop it out. To the right of the Quay is the Rocks, our historical centre.

trying to make me feel a wee bit jealous with some smart looking blue hour city scapes? huh? huh? lol

....damn you, it worked brilliantly! lol

actually, my favorite part of it is the 'steel blue' water, looks like ice - love how the longer shutter does that.
funny about the trailing boat light and trailing plane light, adding a bit of pizzaz.

Excellent night time capture of the CBD. The 'blue hour' sky makes an excellent backdrop for the skyscrapers with their partially lit windows. The midnight blue tones of the harbour waters complement well the inky black tones of the architecture. Enjoy what's left of your weekend.

Wonderful blue hour shot of your wonderful city :) I really like the tight vertical composition and the way the blue water and sky seem to help emphasise the blue neon lighting in the shot as well. The jet trail in the background and the curved lighting in the foreground add greatly to the composition by breaking the strong vertical lines somewhat

Gidday Lisa,

You know I only learned the term Blue Hour here on TE, and since then, have seen so many brilliant examples, this of course being one of them. I am a sucker for a skyline at any time, and this is a doozy! I didnt know what the light trail was til I seen it in the other comments. Really nicely done, its quite a futuristic looking set of buildings. (or I see to many castles, LOL)

Hello Lisa - I have to agree with Craig on this, the water is just amazing. To me it looks like rich midnight blue satin and the neon light reflecting off it gives the satin a luxurious sheen. A super evening sky line with multi-hued twinkling lights and some good reflections on the windows. Although this is a cityscape, the shot does have a peaceful feel. bel taglio stretto sui grattacieli della tua splendida citt�.
Bella anche la scia bianca lasciata dall'aereo, formando una perfetta diagonale.
Bella la gestione della luce e un mare blu che sembra di seta.

Ricordo bene il quartiere The Rocks, come mi piacerebbe poterlo visitare ancora una volta.
Quel giorno pioveva molto forte e non ho avuto la possibilit� di poterlo visitare per bene, ma ne ho apprezzato comunque la sua bellezza.

Grazie per la condivisione! E' sempre un piacere per me poter vedere immagini della tua citt�, specialmente se realizzate bene come tu fai.

Ciao Lisa,

Sydney is a very beautifull city . At night it is even more beautifull. The blue hour provide a nice color to the sky and the building lights are like diamonds.The 30 seconds of exposure are giving nice texture to the water.

Fabulous light of Manhatten... oops, sorry - just remind with those high scrapers, Lisa.
As usual, an immaculate and tidy photo of the downtown business district. Light of a passing jet created a good dynamic line to catch the sight.

Ciao Dear Lisa,

A very competent blue hour shot. The f/g looks like silk as it picks up the reflections from the lights. There is something so exciting, so attractive about twinkling lights, which make up an important 'third' of your shot.
The long exposure has been extremely effective in capturing all the possible light.

Great shot, love those blues - calming and warm which is strange because I think of blue as cold but I can feel the warmth of a summer night in Sydney here. The little flecks of yellow add interesting points for the eye to explore.

Sorry I've not been critiquing for the past couple of days but I had a spot of bother with my internet connection - hopefully I've managed to resolve that now!

Another spectacular night-time shot of Sydney with the most delicious colours and reflections in the sea. Good composition too and a fine contrast between what natural light there is and the artificial light. Lovely colours, excellent composition and, as always, exquisite detail and sharpness.

magnifica ora blu' dove la tranquilita' evocata dalle tonalita' e la levigatezza meravigliosa di cielo e mare e' interrota e contrastata superbamente dall' architettura dinamica, le luci vibranti ed il senso di movimento intorno ai grattacieli. Hai composto l' immagine tanto effettivamente nel quadro verticale assicurandone il successo con ottima realisazione dal punto di vista tecnico. Mi piace tantissimo l' illuminazione ed i colori. Mi ha impressionata davvero l' abbondanza di dettagli nelle parti meno luminosi e come lo spettatore puo' trasferire la sua attenzione piacevolmente dall' impressione generale ai dettagli e vice versa. Complimenti e grazie!

I was attracted to the blue hues in the night sky and the harbor, and modern scrapers in geometrics. Handheld, no tripod?

Must be hard to work when one has a view outside?

marvelous blue hour shot!The view of the part of Sydney愀 skyline with so beautifully illuminated buildings in conjunction with blue water and sky gives really gorgeous result.Another captivating addition to the scene is in my opinion this vapour trail cutting so harmonious-looking sky.Could be something more beautiful than view of the skyscrapers and skyline at blue hour?
