Photographer's Note
The liner called Silver Shadow was in port today. Much smaller than the recent visitors QM2 AND QE2, but still a fine looking modern liner.
The Silver Shadow is the first of a new class of Silversea ships: slightly larger vessels that are still intimate (carrying just 388 passengers) and still boast the line's exceptional service and amenities. Suites feature larger walk-in closets and larger bathrooms with double vanity areas and separate showers. There's an expanded spa and fitness area, a computer center and conference center. A poolside grill offers a casual alternative for daytime dining. Le Champagne is a wine bar, while The Humidor, by Davidoff, is a cozy gathering place with deep sofas, brandy and a selection of fine cigars. Like other Silversea ships, the Silver Shadow has a bistro-style Terrace Cafe that offers breakfast and lunch buffets as well as evening meals that accent gourmet Italian, French and Asian cuisine. The main restaurant, which has an open-seating dining policy, features award-winning fare inspired by the line's partnership with Le Cordon Bleu Academy and luxurious table settings of Christofle silverware and Frette linens. A selection of complimentary wines, spirits and champagnes is served throughout the ship. This is an all-suite vessel, and all accommodations boast ocean views.

I'll rather call it White Shadow, elegant and fast-looking vessel. Maybe little too much sky in this shot? Anyway it's a good photo!

Hi Murray!
Indeed, a very fine ship! You have positioned it very well in the frame, your overall composition is great. The only thing that's little bit "disturbing" is the washed out sky. Besides that, a great job!

Hi Murray, this is a very modern looking ship. It looks very comfortable for the passengers. What I really liked about the shot though was the David and Goliath scene between this huge people carrier and the little water taxi running alongside it. With the long structure, leading into a longer shot with the bridge I thought this might look good in a panoramic type format so I've opened a workshop to do a little play and exploring.
Thanks, John

Now we are cooking Murray! "Much smaller than the recent visitors..." that means you can get her in one shot! Still a pretty big one compared to other boats, eh! Tfs, Jay

Hello Murray,
Having lectured on the Silver Shadow, I am very happy to see it posted in your personal gallery. You've presented the ship with its full majesty. In the world of cruises, the medium sized Crystal Cruise ships, and the smaller, Silverseas Cruise ships, are generally considered much more upscale than the behemoths.
With the intersecting fields of art, archaeology and astrophysics (just the 'A-subjects'), I've had the pleasure of lecturing and seeing much of the Northern Hemisphere. Constrained by the academic calendar in the Northern Hemisphere, I have not been able to see the Southern Hemisphere, generally on the itineraries of cruise ships during winter months up north.
Warm regards,
Bulent
