Photographer's Note
Another film shot taken in 2010. This is one view along the walking track to Valley of the Winds. There are 36 of these big domes in Kata Tjuta, and some of them are over 1000 feet above the surrounding valley floor. Those are trees in the bg. They can survive with run-off from the rock after infrequent rain storms, & the partial shade, but away from the domes it is just too hot & arid with no shade, as evidenced in the fg. Summer temperatures here can reach over 50c.

Hi Chris, great image of this spectacular landscape. Contrast between the red earth and deep blue sky works well, and I like the inclusion of the gravel in the FG. Would have been interesting to see a person in the image to get an idea of the scale. Cheers, Steve

Hello Chris,
Another spectacular image of this valley. I like the loose gravel in the foreground. I see a nice color contrast between the red and the blue. The green vegetation on the red soil grab some attention too.

Hi Chris - Another landscape I would love to see in the flesh. The domes must be really impressive and you have shown off this example well. Your colours are so "Namibian" but the landscape different. Excellent and very interesting. Warm regards Rosemary

Hi Chris,
The wideness of the area is giving depth to the composition. The point of view is showing the details and colors of the dome and of the cliff. The quality of the light is enhancing the colors. Have a nice day.

Wow Chris, Some dome hey, you certainly get the scale after reading your note about the trees. Great Pov, super colours, well managed of the harsh light. A rugged hot savannah it looks. Tfs, Cheers Iain.

Hi Chris,
Again, it looks like the photo from Utah. I haven't realized that one can encounter such landscapes in Australia. But probably it is difficult to reach these places, specially when it is so hot! Fantastic shot of this amazing place. Fabulous colours.

Namaste Chris
Intriguing structures from your home country! The domes are certainly fascinating, weather by the wind into smooth shapes. I liked your low POV & inclusion of the ample FG. I would like to believe that Uluru is created by the same forces, in the same action, only bigger in size
Fine work!

Hello Chris,
nul doute que l'Australie soit une terre interssante pour les géologues mais aussi les photographes. On y voit des formation rocheuses et sous des couleurs comme nulle part ailleurs.
Bon exemple ici avec cette photo de bonne facture technique.
Mes compliments.
Daniel.

Hello Chris,
Until I read the explanation of the vegetation being trees, I thought that what were looking at was a dome 10-20 feet height. I wonder what the geologic process was that created so many massive domes. Also what are those dark shapes, on the cliff? Are they natural formations or caves carved out by the Aborigines?
Warm regards,
Bulent
