Photographer's Note
This is one of the 36 domes of 'Katatjuta' formerly known as the Olgas, which in English translates as 'Many Heads'. This 'head' forms the right hand side of Walpa Gorge. (Walpa in English is 'wind') so named for the whistling sound the desert winds make rushing through the canyon at left. Taken in August 2010, with an analogue film camera using Fuji iso 200 film.
From Wiki:
"The highest point, Mount Olga, is 1,066 m (3,497 ft) above sea level, or approximately 546 m (1,791 ft) above the surrounding plain (198 m (650 ft) higher than Uluru)." Those are trees and a dry waterfall 1/3 of the way up.

Ciao Chris
bella composizione dominata dal contrasto tra i colori vivaci del cielo, delle rocce e della vegetazione,
Pochi ed essenziali colori contrastanti per fare una foto ricca di suggestione.
Ciao e buon fine settimana

Hello Chris,
Fascinating place. The rounded hill makes for a great graphical image. Well composed and captured under a good light. Excellent saturated colours and very good sharpness. Fine transfer to digital.

Namaste Chris
The rock has a curious shape almost like a butte I may say with rounded top smoothened by erosion. Good lead-in with the pebbled path & fine contrast of the warm tone of the rock with the blue sky

Hello Chris,
The shape of this eroded rock and even more its red colour make it a very particular landscape.
A nice strong contrast with that blue sky.
Best regards, Paul

HI Chris,
The distance between the vegetation and the dome is giving depth to the composition. The point of view is showing with precision the details and colors of the mountain. The good luminosity is bringing out the beauty of the colors. Have a nice day.

Bonjour Chris,
J'aime beaucoup la forme de cette bosse qui sort de la terre. La couleur rouge est impressionnante surtout lorsqu'elle se superpose à ce ciel très bleu.

Hello Chris,
I love the way you composed your photo, all these cylindrical lines are really beautiful. Very well chosen POV and interesting foreground: these grasses look almost like some kind of flowers. Very well managed light and colors.
Thanks for sharing!

Hello Chris,
A fascinating place to read about and to view. Are those trees dwarfed or what you might call full-sized? I am trying to use them as a reference for the size of the dome.
As always, you have a fine sense of composition, using an excellent dof, whilst the colours are very well saturated.
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Hi dear Chris
Wow, they're spectacular. And I never realised they'd changed the name from the Olgas! The things we learn here on TE! Beautiful colours and light management. The sharpness and depth are three-dimensional. Superb shot, thanks for the excellent note too.
Cheers

Hi,
So Olgas is the same as Kata Tjuta? I thought they are different things. Well, now I know. probably the next week I will made decision and buy air ticket to Darwin and from there I will go to Alice springs and Ayers Rock. It is my dream to see the outback. And it looks fantastic here indeed. Incredible blue sky, red rocks and wonderful grasses. You used analog camera two years ago??
Superb shot, I will see it in my dreams now...
Warm regrads
