Photographer's Note
I visited the city of Adelaide, South Australia with a friend. We went into the Adelaide Arcade for a drink. When I had a good look around I realised how pretty this old architecture is and decided to take some photos to show it to the rest of you. One probably wouldn't notice this lovely corner if they didn't take time to sit and observe.
Adelaide Arcade was built in 1885 and comprised of 50 shops. Nowadays it boasts a diverse range of over 100 specialty retail outlets on the ground floor and balcony level. It took only five months to build and a further two months to occupy, with the letting and fitting out of the shops enabling Adelaide Arcade to be completed by December 1885. Ornamental cast iron from Messers Fulten & Co was used extensively and marble slabs flanking the entrances were supplied by the Kapunda Quarries.
The whole building was illuminated by electric light and was one of the first buildings in Adelaide to use electric lighting.
The design of Adelaide Arcade was by Withall & Wells, is the most important piece of their work to survive.
Cheers,
Debbie

Hi Debbie, I think this one might be part of that category, "they don't build em like they used to". Nicely seen and shot by yourself. You must have some natural light working for you as well as this globe. The lighting throughout the shot is very good.
Thanks, John

Hi Debbie,
Yes it is amazing what we see if we take the time to look around us. This is a great POV and what I really like about it, is firstly the soft tones of the grey and cream, contrasted against the black lamp post, and secondly all the angled lines throughout the image. Well captured.
Cheers Grant

Excellent detail. It is amazing how we do not look up when strolling along the arcades. Only the windows are in our minds. Very good note too. Well done.

Hi Debbie,
good indoor shot of lovely colours and good light. The choice of ISO 800 was the right thing I think. A good note about the Arcades to make it complete. Thanks for sharing.

Hello Debbie,
Interesting interior details are captured!
The good definition results in sharp fine details and attractive colours, the point of view gives dynamic lines to composition!
