Photographer's Note

At 1095m, Bluff Knoll is the highest peak in Western Australia. Bluff Knoll is located in the Stirling Range National Park around 400km southeast of Perth.

The walk trail to the summit is about a six hour return journey, but on a good day your effort will be rewarded with spectacular views across rural WA to the coast 80km away! It is also one of the very few places in the state where you may very occasionally find snow.

On this day that we were there, mist was swirling across the range but from time to time the peak was revealed for a few moments. I waited for several minutes until one such moment arrived and took the shot. While technically not a great shot, it achieved the purpose that I had in mind.
