We often get good sunsets where I live and this one a few nights ago is no exception. What may be slightly different is the after effects of Tonga's massive volcanic eruption which has resulted a lingering volcanic plume and lots of great intense red sunsets in Australia.

Hi Ian
Most of the dust settled north of Fraser Island, but it wouldn't surprise me if it had circumnavigated the globe sine the eruption and has now spread across NSW. Marvellous colour and silhouetted trees. Tfs!

Hello Ian,
Fantastic colours and attractive silhouettes of trees. It's a very well exposed photo. It reminds me of how the smoke from hundreds of thousands of fires used for cooking create the most fantastic sunsets in Indian cities.

Hi Ian,
I like the play between the lighted and shadowed areas. The point of view is showing the details of the clouds. The sunset is giving nice colors to the sky. Have a nice day.

Hello Ian.
An impressive composition, with this sunset of such an intense red, and the yellow of the horizon, the trees give a beautiful backlight.

Hello Ian,
Tonga has disappeared from the news here. For a while there was no news because the islands could not be reached by plane and when connections became possible again, there was no longer any report of the extent of damage or loss of life ... Strange.
Splendid sunset. I like the silhouettes of the many leaves and branches on the vividly coloured background.
Best regards, Paul

Hello Ian,
The aftermath of a volcanic eruption brought beautiful sky, which you took full advantage of that moment.

Hi Ian,
I think I have seen plenty of such intense red sunsets from Australia and always wondered whether it is real. I suppose your note answers that. We have great sunsets as well in North Yorkshire however far from what you show here. But on top of that I don't have any good spot to photograph them, maybe I have to think of a spot.
Spectacular show here!

Hi Ian,
I agree, this looks great! Yellow and red tones are really saturated, and with darker pastel tones on cloudy area of the sky they make a wonderful combination. Silhouettes of trees and bushes are well placed.

Hello Ian,
Stunning red 'volcanic' sunset in the Southern Hemisphere and peaceful continent of Oceania.
The sky is like 'Fire & Fury' and yet the earth is 'Calm & Stable'. It's just mind-blowing !

Hello Ian,
Beautiful colors and silhouettes. Oh, that tree in the middle alone would have made a fine photo of patterns.
