Photographer's Note

I used to live not far from here and often thought it would make a cool shot. I thought the cobblestone gave it a real 'Jack the Ripper' English look to it. Then someday someone painted 'Boy London' on the wall and I decided it was time to take the shot. I only found out years later that Boy London was actually the name of some fashion company. I had always imagined that the writer of the graffiti saw the same english thing I saw. Now i just can't help thinking what a lame thing it was to write on a wall. The alley is in Fitzroy - somewhere between Brunswick and Nicholson closer to the cathedral end.
I really like the light play on the shutter door and the cobblestones. the streetlight also looks like a steroid pumped moon! scanned from a B&W print.
