Photographer's Note
Omarama Clay Cliffs. The Clay Cliffs are a geological wonder; ‘badland’ sharp pinnacles and ridges separated by steep and narrow ravines.rnrnThe Cliffs were created out of layers of silt and gravel deposited by ancient glaciers around 20 million years ago. These layers were compressed, then uplifted by geological activity in the area, then as the high points began to be eroded pinnacles were left behind.

Hello Nikolai,
When my son returned from his obligatory, post-university, world trip, he could not stop praising the wonderful sights and the thrill creating activities in New Zealand. I think it was his favourite location!
When I see this photograph, I begin to understand his enthusiasm! This is an amazing location, photographed with fine details and colours, for us to enjoy.
Many years ago, there was a TE member called gracious (Tony Ho) who used to post exquisite photographs of New Zealand. It is so interesting to share photographs from our own locations!
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Hi Nikolai,
Fascinating place below all those eroded cliffs. Sandstone colour rocks make a special combination with grey sky. You chose a good viewpoint where the path splits to two branches.
Kari
