Suspended Selfie, a photo from West Coast, South Island

Photographer's Note

One of the highlights of a visit to the West Coast of the South Island is this short walk through the Hokitika Gorge. Following a section of the Hokitika River, the track features the stunning colors of the glacier fed waters, surrounded by interesting granite rock formations and native forest.
The only thing spoiling the visit to this enchanting spot is the presence of sandflies which are persistent and can leave nasty little welts on one's exposed skin.

The use of the zoom at 270mm created a slight blur but the composition was my priority as I stood far away on the other side of the gorge.

You provided a stunning tele view of this lightweight suspension bridge. The gorge looks quite wide for such an installation. Well framed shot with appropriate human peresence.

C'est vraiment pass� dans les moeurs des touristes et en fait de toux ceux qui poss鋄ent un t幨廧hone de se photographier dans toutes les situations. Ici, tu les as saisi de loin sans qu'ils s'en doutent.Je me demande si ils peuvent bien voir le paysage derri鋨e eux.

Great composition of this landscape crossed by a manmade structure with people on it. I really like the expanse of water at the bottom with the wonderful colour shouting New Zealand.
Interesting candid too with intimate moment captured. I bet they did't have a clue (and didn't care) that someone was taking a photo of them taking a photo. And very good title too!

Hello Klaudio,

You put hong long telephoto lens to good use here. The couple creating the selfie are oblivious to being in photographed by a member of the paparazzi. There is a possibility that I will be on a ship cruising from California to New Zealand next November. I've never been to New Zealand before, and this may give me a chance to see some of the remarkable scenery you've posted from South Island.

Congratulations to the Croatian team for the 4-0 victory over Cameroon. In anticipating the score before the game, I must admit, i was correct again: 0-0.
