Photographer's Note
The Pancake Rocks and Blowhole at Punakaiki is a hotspot for photographers from all over the world, and we had to have a photo for our collection, the weather was not so good when we arrived, and the sun in the lens was not good, so we stayed the night and the next morning was perfect, maybe too good as the morning light was bright on the rocks, causing them to burn out a tad, the polarizer helped I think.
Regards Mike and Gail.

Hello Mike and Gail,
The polarizer worked beautifully to optimize the colors and contrasts. What a gorgeous spot, and what unusual formations these comprise. The description, "pancake rocks," is most appropriate, but it is the color of the sea that captures one's fancy. How far would this site be from Rotorua where I have some close friends?
Have a good weekend,
Bulent

Hi Mike,
I agree with you about the foreground, not much happening there lightwise and it does tend to dominate the frame. Too bad there wasn't a large wave coming up through the blow hole to give you some visual texture.
However it is a very pretty scene and the ocean and sky really pop with the pola filter doing its job.
Regards
Peter

Hello MIke
What unusually shaped gray rock formations and with the blow hole in the FG, what makes this even more beautiful is the superb deep blue colour of the ocean against that sky - CPL has worked its magic. Well done
Cheers Peter

Hi Mike & Gail
Fabulous panorama of these amaziong rocks. They remind me a little of the coastline in Tasmania. The depth of field is razor sharp and I love those blue and red tones. Such a magnificent unspoilt stretch of coastline. We really are so lucky to live in the Southern Hemisphere and have this rugged, uncontaminated landscape at our backdoor.
TFS and I wish you both a very Merry Christmas

Hi Mike!
Interesting and beautiful place!
Very attractive nature picture!
Sharpness, exposure, chosen pov, dof, colors, pp, contrasts, horizontal format, slim black borders and simple composition are all very good features here! I really like it!
TFS - congrats,
Best regards,
Neyvan
