Taranaki and cows, a photo from Taranaki, North Island

Photographer's Note

The dormant volcano Mt Taranaki (or Mt Egmont) rises above lush green pastures used for dairy farming. You can see a few cows in the foreground. On the right is part of the old eroded volcano of Pouakai. This photo was taken just out of New Plymouth.

What a gorgeous view ! The "perfect" volcano , like in a dream , with its summit covered by snow . The light is splendid . The green rural landscape in the Fg is superb . Fantastic DOF and clarity .

Hello Vincent,
An impressive view of this majestic volcano. The large foreground filled with trees and green fields gives a nice contrast to the dark slopes of the volcano and a great depth to the scene. I like the three dimensional effect with the cloudy scarf floating behind the volcano. The white peak looks nice against the rich deep sky. Thank you for this beautiful photo of this most perfect volcano.

Another beautiful shot of Mt. Taranaki. Those sunlit fields pop so clearly out of forest landscape. Cows are nice extra details.
