Photographer's Note

Another cellphone image.
In the last image we could see the bull and the cowboy in a rodeo, few meters ahead it was the wild horse.
If you pay attention you will see the fa蓷de of the main church of the town in the lower right corner, it is imitating a part of the Our Lady Aparecida Sanctuary, the patron saint of Brazil and Cruzmaltina.
When I was a little boy the original name of this village was Lascado (slashed)probably the pioneers found a native tree slashed by a thunderstorm or something like this and the name came (The place where there is a slashed trunk). In Brazilian Portuguese language the world "slashed" is an old slang that means poor, desperate, facing a hard time. Because this, probably when the village got its first promotion, the locals decided to give it a better name and the first priests who served the place came from Malta island and they created the name mixing the word cross with Maltese, meaning a cross that came from Malta, the same Portuguese used when discovered Brazil in 1500.
You can compare the shapes of the local church with the national sanctuary in the link bellow.

.................
