Cordisburgo is the birthplace of writer Jo緌 Guimar綣s Rosa. It is where the famous Gruta do Maquin� is located, Pra蓷 de Pedras, the Sert緌 Memorial (in the photo above) and the Casa de Jo緌 Guimar綣s Rosa Museum and a beautiful church of the matrix (already posted here).
The work "Grande Sert緌 Veredas", one of the most important in Brazilian literature, is praised for the language and originality of style present in the account of Riobaldo, an ex-jagun蔞 (a cowboy from the Brazilian backlands) who recalls his struggles, fears and love repressed by Diadorim. In the photo above the memorial depicts characters from the book.

Hello Ricardo,
I expected you to show this monument, at least I hoped you would. It would have been strange to overlook it. Although I don't know the book mentioned I can still enjoy the photo and how the artist has framed the view of the figures. Two tall palm trees provide a fine background. You found the best angle for this photo.

Hello Ricardo,
A good photo of this memorial with all those sculptures of men on horses underneath the large rusty arch. The red and brownish tones throughout the photo look really nice in this warm sunlight as well.

That big frame is a wonderful element on this group of statues. Cowboys are no doubt essential part of history and literature of Brazil. Well presented scene.

Hello Ricardo,
Seeing the thumbnail, I thought real horsemen were coming up.
A fairly large monument where the statues shine in the sunlight. It's funny that a dog has been added too.
A very dry period must have preceded because all the grass is scorched.
Clarity, sharpness and composition are excellent.

Hi Ricardo,
Very original monument which comes with its own frame already. I like also the palm trees which seem to be planted symmetrically in the framed view.
Nice capture in a great light with long shadows.

Lep spomenik, dobro pokazano sa lepim bojama, kontrastom i uhvacenim trenutkom sa oblacima koji dolaze.
Lepe skulpture.
