Surprise for Jorge, a photo from Sao Paulo, Southeast

Photographer's Note

I planned to show the church of Elijah the Prophet from Yaroslavl, but Jorge did it. So I changed my mind and here is a surprise for him.

Three months after my trip to Russia another big adventure - Brazil and Argentina. I saw an incredible offer for a cheap flight to Sao Paulo and in just half an hour I bought the tickets.
After 12 hour flight from Madrid we (I was with a friend Anna) we landed in Sao Paulo. The city is huge (20 millions people is half of Poland) and the airport is very big. We had two hours for the next flight to Rio de Janeiro. In that time we had to take our backpacks, to find a check-in, to stand in q queue, then to find the gate.. I could read what was written but with speaking Brazilian Portuguese was a bit difficult. We run like mad. When finally we came out of breath into the plane, all passengers were already sitting. Imagine what the view they had: two old ladies with warm clothes, caps and gloves in a 40 degrees hot day. It was January.

Here the view we had some minutes before landing. I looked at other photos from Sao Paulo. Many photos by Neyvan and bona. No pictures by the European travellers :).
Two other photos in Workshop. I do not remember what airlines we used to Rio. But Jorge will recognize for sure.

Hello Malgo,
This is a very big city...
Since I don't know anything about S緌 Paulo I have no idea if we see the centre of the city or if these are all suburbs. Both photos are well exposed and mainly sharp, but there is a blurred horizontal area, also seen in the WS (there is only one WS), which must have been caused by your window.

A superb aerial shot of this huge Brazilian city with good sharpness and no large wings obstructing the view. A nice tribute to Jorge. Tfs!

The wideness of the city is giving depth to the composition. The aerial point of view is showing the details of the buildings of the city of Sao Paulo. Well done, have a nice day.

What a fantastic and very clear bird's eye view of the enormous city. Good inclusion of the hills in the distance also and the many houses and buildings are lit by a pleasant sidelight.

Ciao Malgo,I think I recognize the logo of wing in the WS of the airline "GOL" which is based in Brazil. The photos are beautiful, great show and great details, and it's never easy, you arrived late for boarding but they cleaned your window well ... ehhee .. Have a nice Sunday and thanks,Luciano

In 1992 I landed in Sao Paulo, spent one night in a hotel and then went to the bus station. I don't have a single photo of the city. It was of course the time of the slides when you had to be sparingly with your photos. However, I haven't visited this city.
On your photo it looks like an urban jungle. Still, it surprises me that there are so many low-rise buildings.
Your ticket was good value but you got a dirty window :)
I believe the other airline is Gol Transportes A廨eos (Gol Linhas A廨eas).

Good photo taken from an airplane, not always easy if the window is not clean. Interesting beginning for a travel in a foreigner country, a nice view before landing, good sharpness and light, good title about our TE friend Jorge ...

Obrigado pela surpresa!

Na verdade essas vistas s緌 da cidade de Guarulhos, com mais de um milh緌 de habitantes e que faz parte da regi緌 metropolitana de SP.Os arredores do aeroporto e a cidade de Guarulhos em si s緌 uma regi緌 feia e sem nenhum charme.
O aeroporto foi erguido nessa regi緌 nas d嶰adas de 70-80, porque era uma 嫫ea pouco habitada, por幦, logo a metr鏕ole engoliu tudo. Hoje em dia eles est緌 planejando fazer um aeroporto maior em outra parte,
SP recebe relativamente poucos turistas estrangeiros, a maior parte deles vem aqui por causa das confer瘽cias, da parada gay e da corrida de F1. Mas a cidade tem linda arquitetura, 鏒imos museus e variada comida.
A companhia a廨ea que voc� usou � a GOL.
