Photographer's Note

Let's face it, I should not be able to shoot this scene, never, wherever, whenever. These feet have fit my lens because it shocks me, it disturbs me. I hear people saying that it isn't nice to take pictures of poverty, of homeless or so. But they are there!!! Places like Rio, like several major cities of third world countries have plenty of similar subjects. Scenes we cross by on daily basis, so why should I stop? that would be a sort of hypocrisi. I do them as a shout of despair, as a revolting act, and NOT as opportunism or sensationalism. There's no space for indulgence in here. I do my best to take a good picture in deed, to look visually nice, but I try to give a meaning to it. I didn't hunt this picture, for instance, it just came to my sight, and the final message is, I should not be able to find such things, that's it. And if I do, there's definitely something wrong with this world. Sorry.
