Photographer's Note
Apologies for the poor image quality, this is a home scan. A somewhat elevated view of Cuernos del Paine range from a hilltop which I think is called Cerro Condor. The lake is Pehoe lake, and there is an expensive hotel on the island in it (I did not stay there). Unfortunately the afternoon light was not the best to show the mountains, I have uploaded a morning view taken from the footbridge to the island here The lake surface looks very calm in this photo, but I remember it being so windy at the top that I almost needed cosmetic surgery to replace my lips the next day. The unique lenticular clouds are evidence of this.

Good shot considering the backlit conditions - and I like the halo effect on the clouds. From what I understand, getting a clear shot of these mountains is quite difficult, so congratulations on the view you had that day. Great work!

Wow Tan you really have been travelling all over this globe! Even though scanned this image has some very fine qualities with the surrounding mountians and the gorgous lake. An outstanding image!

Yo Tan
No need to apologize, my friend. A very finely scanned image. It's still the best.
Well, from the date, you have put the "trademark" of yours since 2003. That a remarkable shot from the "top-of-the-world" angle.
Yeah, that several patches of cloud, or maybe it's some UFOs hiding behind it, put the interest here.
Cheers and good day.

Wonderful; shot. the composiotion is perfect. The skyview, the reflection of the sky, the mountain give it a tremendous look.

Hi Tan,
Amazing post, Tan considering it's a home scan. The view here is amazing and the peaks look so beautiful against the blue sky. I love how you were able to capture so much depth in the photo. The lake looks wonderful! Great composition and well done!

Bonjour Tan
Superbe composition. Belle luminosité et les petits nuages tout ronds sont un petit plus dans le décor.
Merci pour le partage.

Hi Tan,
I have serious doubt about the centered cloud... It looks like an UFO and I wouldn’t be surprised if they choose Patagonia to install their colony; it’s so amazingly beautiful!
After reading your note, I’ve realized how vast is this landscape when I’ve put in proportion the little island and the bridge that leads to it. What an exhilarating experience it should be standing in front of these natural wonder.
Even though it’s a scan, there’s still some contrast and fine details. Only colors seem to have lost some punch, but the view is so incredible that composition prevails.
Very impressive!

Hello Tan
The landscape composition is wonderful like usual. Sadly the light conditions are not optimal and part of the photo is a bit too dark, maybe you can fix that with photoshop.

Impactante paisaje, a pesar de estar en sombra los tonos son impresionantes, buen contraste del lago y el cielo sobre las montañas, parece una paisaje de película (El Señor de los Anillos), buen trabajo.

Hi Tan. Nice capture, you certainly get around. You have come up with a lovely image even though you may consider it a little low grade. All the basics are well done, exposure, composition etc but overall what you have captured is beautiful.
TFS. Cheers, Paul.

Great shot Tan, given the backlit conditions. The scan quality is very good & your trademark POV provides a wonderful view here. Fascinating jagged peaks & amazing clouds..it's not easy to shoot at such high altitudes

Hey Tan,
This is such a brilliantly composed image. The landscape is so incredibly dramatic and, in spite of the scene being backlit, you've done a really great job with it. Although you say the image quality isn't so great, it still looks pretty good on my screen. I notice the time between when you took this shot and when it was posted and how you mentioned the image quality. Given that you talked about this in your recent critique of my scanned photo, it's quite interesting that you mentioned it because I wasn't previously aware that the age of a scanned photo could be a problem. If you have further knowledge about this, I'd be really interested to learn.
Hugs.

A very good scanning even if it is home produced. The lenticular clouds are my favorite part of your picture, although the point of view of the lake, stretching to the mountains in the background, is also very well chosen. I agree with your comment on the light which is not the best you could have wished for such a nice landscape but the overall remains very impressive.
All the best,
Emmanuel

Hi Tan
As you say, the light conditions are not optimal but nevertheless I like the hazy effect, and your compo and POV are excellent to show off this classic and majestic Patagonian landscape with a moody atmosphere. The WS is excellent too and worthy of a main posting - the lighting and reflections are especially beautiful.

The quality is good enough Tan. When earth, heaven, water reach the balance you show us in the photo, one could think the world is magic, but not, it´s the outcome for centuries of work from behalf the nature, so let preserve nature and keep her do her job properly. Thanks mister Yilmaz.

Hi Tan,
Despite the poor light conditions, I think this is quite a beautiful shot. It's well composed, showing both the lake and the mountains and I especailly like those small, lenticular clouds in the sky. A place I'd like to visit one day!
Have a nice day.

Hi Tan... I don't see the poor quality, but I'm sure I am not expert. I find out this shot marvellous, simply marvellous. Everything it's at your own place, the clouds, the water and the beautiful mountains. It's a beautiful invitation to calm, to silence, to admiration... I like how the water is going to bottom addressing our eyes... It's perfect. Thanks for sharing!

Wonderful shot of Lago Pehoe and the Cuernos! I think this is an especially good shot because we've all seen dozens of shots from the road down by the island there. Seeing it from this high up, and seeing the Cuernos look the same size as ever but the island look tiny gives a much better perspective of the size of the Cuernos. I like the backlit effect as well. Well done.
