Photographer's Note

View through a window of the wall built to protect the city of Cartagena in the 16th century from the atack of the pirates who used to sail through the Caribbean Sea. The pirates are gone and the city has grown, but the wall is still there protecting its beautiful Historic Center, one of the main tourist attractions of Colombia.

I like the fine framing achieved through the old brick & mortar window & also appreciate the fact that the focus is good right from the FG to the BG which allows us to enjoy the scene. well done!

Using the window to frame the scene is a good idea. The distanece between the window and the horizon is giving depth to the composition. The good luminosity is enhancing the beauty of the colors. Have a nice day.

Hi Alexandre,
I like the view shot through the opening in the old wall.
The contrast between the old stones and bricks and the lively colours of the sea-side promenade, gives a great effect.
Maybe I would have cut part of the lower wall, to make the view a little larger. IMHO.

Howdy Alex,

Interesting view comparison with the dominant antique rock wall window, then the road and ocean front. Perhaps today there is a need not from pirates but the automobile?

Managed a superb DOF, Alexandre, no distortion which almost happens in cases like this picture. View through the old bricks window, shows beautiful green grass and a seascape on far. Well done.
