Machu Picchu Sunrise, a photo from Cusco, South

Photographer's Note

The warm rays of sunrise begin to burn off the morning fog over the lost city of Machu Picchu. I was lucky enough to be on the first train back to the ruins after the disastrous floods of winter, 2009. This was the first day in nearly 4 months that the park had received any visitors. And it was empty at sunrise!

What a shot! There's all the power of Nature, of Time, of Mistery of the ancient people who inhabited this land.
Moreover the sharpness is great. I will really like to see the original one, not compressed file...

Hai Mike.. magnificent image. The sunrise made this magical place looks surreal.

Excelent photograph. What makes it looking special is morning mist rising from the forests down Machu Picchu. One of the most visited Peru愀 tourist atractions (luckyly located high in the Ands) looks early in the morning without the crowds almost magic.
