Photographer's Note

The horizon visible in this photo might be considered as the symbol of Machu Picchu. This is a glimpse of a spectacular unit formed by the settlements of the Citadel and the hills which support the structures sorrounded and protected by the landscape which gives the area an unmistakable and majestic air. Here lies the mountain range which the Pre-Hispanic men adored and considered sacred beings and protectors.

This particular photo was taken as I overlooked the sacred plaza below and Huayna Picchu beyond.
