Photographer's Note

Uruguay is home to an estimated three and half million people, of whom most live in the metropolitan area of its capital and largest city, Montevideo viewed here.

It is also home to some of the best all-you-can-eat meat restaurants globally. Similar to Brazil. I took many photos of cooking fires, barbeques, and the like � great for those who like that stuff. (me).

This photo shows a main street with few occupants as Sunday closes most everything down here. Thanks for viewing.

Hi David,
great capture from Uruguay.
Far in the distance we can spot the most recognizable structure which I am also proud to have in my collection (CLICK HERE). I have visited Montevideo just as a day trip from Buenos. I liked it very much although I read it is not very safe so sometimes I felt a bit uncomfortable and so I sticked to main touristy areas.
You show a side street which you have well squeezed with a zoom and so the facades of the many houses align nicely on one another.
Great effect

Hi David,i like a lot this perspective,i never been there but the view reminds me a lot La Habana. All the shops are closed,so it's time to go in an all you can eat to spend time..ehehe..and i like it! We don't get to see many pictures of Uruguay on this site. So this is a nice surprise.
On the background we spot the tower of the Palacio Salvo. So this street must be in the centre of Montevideo.
A perfect sharp and clear presentation!

Hello David,

This is a fine photograph, even if most things are closed.
Despite the lack of people, the many colourful, road signs give an impression of business and cause us to stop to admire the roadside buildings.
The long perspective guides us naturally to the contrasting, tall buildings, one modern, one possibly colonial. Good focal points.

Hello David, Beautiful picture from Montevideo. Interesting building with a dome. Similar one is also in Buenos Aires. I think I would like these all meats. Argentina is famous for its beefsteaks, so probably in Uruguay it is also delicious.

if I am not wrong this was the same street where my first hotel in montevideo was located. nice view of the old fa蓷des, in fact the city has a decay mood in some areas, but I liked it a lot.

Well captured street in long perspective with Palacio Salvo in the BG. As most South American countries businesses are closed on Sunday so families can enjoy time together.
