Photographer's Note
View of the Avila mountain over Caracas, Venezuela. Caracas is the capital city of Venezuela and has around 5 million inhabitants. The city itself is not a specially interesting touristic destination (especially considering the wonderful natural places away from Caracas that the country has to offer) but this mountain limiting its north side provides a majestic view from practically every place inside the city.
The Avila is a small and isolated mountain range with a maximum height of 2765 meters above sea level (Pico Naiguata). The highest point visible in the image is the Pico Oriental with a height of 2640 meters above sea level.
The motion of the clouds in the picture was achieved with a ND 3.0 filter allowing for a 30 seconds exposure.
