Photographer's Note
This is a "raspadero". Raspaderos are street vendors who carry around an ice block which they "scrape" to create "raspados" (scraped ice) and then add different kind of syrups (mainly juice flavored syrups such as lemon, passion fruit, tamarind, coconut - or "colita" which is an artificial flavor hard to describe; it's actually like some kind of red soda flavor). If you want, they add a shot of sweet condensed milk on the top. Some decades ago, raspaderos were common on the streets; they even went to different suburbs. Nowadays, it is more common to find "cepillados" on the streets, which are basically the same type of "ice", but are already prepared, not made "on site".
Specifically on this shot: the ice is normally placed in the light blue press you see here and is then rotated against some blades. The bottles with colored liquids are the different kind of syrups.
Cropped, saturated, resized and frame added.

Hi Yvonne, this is a very good daily life shot. We also have this kind of raspadero in Cambodia too. A lot of children eat it. I used to eat it to. Well done. Sothy

Yvonne
Good capture of street life. I must admit although they always look tasty I rarely try them when abroad!
