Photographer's Note

Night view of Saint Peter's Basilica in Rome, from Via della Concilliazione, this street of about 500 meters long connects Saint Peter's Square to the Castel Sant' Angelo. The road was constructed between 1936 and 1950, and it is the primary access route to the Square. In addition to the usual lining of shops and residences, it is bordered by a number of historical and religious buildings � including the Palazzo Torlonia, the Palazzo dei Penitenzieri and the Palazzo dei Convertendi, and the churches of Santa Maria in Traspontina and Santo Spirito in Sassia.
The view from this point of the basilica becomes even more magnificient if it's possible.

una bella e classica vista su San Pietro e via della Conciliazione, con un diaframma piu' chiuso avresti ottenuto un effetto sulle luci migliore, comunque sempre un piacere vedere una foto cosi'.

Good night shot with very good exposure. I agree with Isabella about a narrower aperture, would have added some star effects on the light. But otherwise a fine night shot. Like the symmetry & colours

une prise qui ne manque pas de charme, mais j'ai l'impression que le cadrage est un peu juste, tu aurais pu tenter un assemblage vertical de deux photos.
Un petit manque de nettet� aussi.

A very nice night view with a good mangment of light. The POV well selected give an interesting symetry effect and a great prospect too the basilic. Good, interesting and not easy photowork.

Hello Felip, You are very brave to stand in the middle of the road to take this fantastic night shot, the light & detail are excellent but I must admit for me your larger version is more effective, Although this one looks cleaner without the distractions of reflections & crossing but this in only my opinion.
Very well done.

Hi Felip,
it is one of my favorite views of Rome and I believe this was one of my first night pictures I ever took.
It was pre-digital though and I have a big poster made of it 50x75mm.
Point of view is fantastic, the symmetry as well.
I believe it was taken with a telelens which caused an interesting effect of squeezing plenty of buildings on both sides close together. Beautiful.
It is a pity though that it is not at the blue hour. I would probably also leave more of the traffic it may add some more life to it.
