Photographer's Note
If you have ever been to Crater Lake in southern Oregon in the winter, you will know that it is not exactly "on the way" to anywhere else. In April I am told that it can be hard to catch in the sunshine, so during a recent trip when we heard that it might be sunny we got up early and drove 4 hrs down there. We arrived at the top of the mountain and the clouds were just moving in. Within 45 minutes the lake was obscured. Timing is everything!
