This is Kye monastery near Kaza. It is a 1000 year old building. The cluster amidst the sandy mountains gives a different feeling altogether.

Amazing! Beautifully captured. Vivid colours, excellent composition. You can see the monastery's isolation in the barren landscape. Perhaps I would have positioned it more off centre.

this looks like a very special town; the local populace must be extremely fit doing daily hikes up and down the 'roads' of this community.

The impression is very much of a story-book setting - probably encouraging to know that such places do indeed exist outside of the imagination.

The colours and the light are creating an excellent ambience... the buildings help us to understand the scale of the mountains around..
