Photographer's Note

The interior of the Hagia Sofia is vast.
But you must visit galleries on the second floor, and you will be impressed not only by mosaics and architecture but also because of the play of light on walls.

Waiting the next TE meeting at Istanbul, in February 2010, I can dream and remember all great moments and friends from Turkey

let there be light! :) and then there was light, in all meanings of this word. I'm happy about the recent changes here, and hats off to you for your persistance.
but back to the photo - love it, the golden light seems to pour right out of my monitor. the composition works very well, especially the strong diagonals of light and shadow. great shot, my compliments.

ahh, so you are becoming more and more excited about the new meeting in february! so am i!
it was such a nice meeting, and i very well remember our perfect day in old istanbul. this one will be even better!
let the TE spirit rise again! :D

ps: when are you planning to come? i and burcu will be out of istanbul in the first weekend (6th & 7th of february)

My, oh my...Isa, this is fabulous! Not just the effect of light creating halos around the people, but also the long shadows. Your framing, unusual to say the least creating a fine perspective, is excellent! I have a fleeting feeling that the guy with the camera is a TE-ite!

Lights.. its yes.. but the shades create the finest of balance here, giving a dramatic touch to the frame.
Beautiful in composition with the concept still hanging in frame, the reflections of the beautiful Hagia Sofia in the distant b/g.

I guess I know both of them, one very closely and the other one just from her pics... I fell in love with light of Hagia Sofia every time I see a picture from your previos visit to Istanbul. It's a pity that I had never gone there with my camera. Maybe in the next meeting...
