Photographer's Note

Californa State Route 1 runs along much of the Pacific coast of California. It is famous for some of the most beautiful coastlines in the world. It is contains lots of curves and switch backs and there are many no passing areas with speed limits as low as 25 mph (40 kmph). Over several days I drove approximately 180 miles (285 km) on this highway. I stopped four times due to single lane traffic, as a result of half of the road having fallen into the ocean, or rocks slides had closed the other lane. The waits were not long, at the most 15 minutes. This highway is not for the faint hearted. However there was a goodly amount of traffic on the road. There are many viewpoints off the road as well as parks and camping grounds. There are only a few villages or towns in most of the area. I stopped many times and took lots of pictures. This is my second picture of this area near Big Sur.
