Reflections of Lavena, a photo from Varese, Lombardia

Photographer's Note

The village of Lavena lies on the Italian side of Lake Lugano, separated from Switzerland by a narrow channel linking two parts of the lake. Lavena merges with the Italian town of Ponte Tresa, and the two towns are known as Lavena Ponte Tresa. Ponte Tresa refers to the bridge over the Tresa River - on the north side of the river is the Swiss town of Ponte Tresa.

This is the view from the Hotel Socrate in Italian Ponte Tresa, with late afternoon sun lighting up the church tower.

Hello Vincent ,
The subtile reflections are an important feature of this fine picture ; Like how the beautifl buildings seem to be inrelief , in front of the darkest forest . A good choice , to frame without any sky .
