That is certainly a great idea! An all bright high key view with wide smile is just lovely.
Also technically excellent shot With short focus and some motion blur separating her well from background.

I'm always drawn to informal portraits. Often it's street photography; here it's a funny wedding moment. I assume you weren't the "official" photographer, but you've caught a nice moment, when the bride looks natural and happy. And probably cold. I think I'd have framed her slightly to the right so that she had space to throw the snow into!

Witaj Kasiu, oryginalny pomysl na sesje zdjeciowa po slubie. Zeby tylko sie panna mloda nie zaziebila przy tej robocie. Ciekawa scenka z pieczerskiej Lawry. Hi Kasia,

Great capture of a seemingly spontaneous moment. Although you may not have been the wedding photographer, you could have passed this one off as such. Great depth of field and exposure so as not fuse the white on white color scheme, it shows a good balance and differential. Thanks for sharing, and best wishes for 2013!

Great opportunity you took advantage of here, Kasia - not often you seen the bride doing manual labor before the ceremony! Filling the screen with white shades like this works nicely, and accentuates those places - like the bride herself or the trim on the monastery - that are golden or tan. Nice DOF as well.

What a fun and lovely picture. Indeed the weather is cold and the work tough ... yet young love is a wonderful thing. She looks so happy. I would guess about two shovels and she was done .... Without the photos comments one might think she had been at it all day. A very cute catch. Great vantage point without interruption of the activity. Good color contrast with the shape of the cleared path behind. CUTE

I was just browsing the archives and came across one of yours.
It's easy to miss splendid shots but I'm so glad I happened upon this one!
The title is so apt and helped to add both humour and anticipation to your splendid photograph.
This must be a unique shot!
You have used the shallow dof to perfection, focusing on the bride but adding so much extra information from the oof b/g.

It always amazes me how brides never seem to feel the cold. Whatever the temperatures, they still like to have bare shoulders . Perhaps, that𠏋 why she decided to get busy in order to get some energy and warmth !
