Riverboat in Sunderbans : This shot was taken while on a cruise to the Sunderbans,the largest single block of tidal halophytic mangrove forest in the world, located in the southern part of West Bengal.It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site covering parts of Bangladesh and India.The Sundarbans National Park is also situated here,which is one of the largest reserves for the Royal Bengal Tiger.This particular boat was carrying a group of people enjoying their picnic aboard the riverboat, which is a routine affair in the Sunderbans in the last week of the year.

Very nice capture of this river boat but I would be more interested in the wildlife on this river. The river looks very wide and fast moving. Good pov and dof with nice details. Well done, tfs.

hi farhat,
typically a colorful photo from india! the shape of the boat is quite authentic for my eyes and i like your tight framing which focuses on the boat. the sky looks rather dull. i wouldn't expect to see monsoon in december, so i guess it would be a normal rain. seeing bengal tigers in their original habitat is a life time dream for me. hopefull one day...

Great photo, Farhat.
The movement on water, and the colors made this boat so attractive, with people on board pic. looks vibrant as well.
Fine small decoration mounted on it's roof, and the colors mingle well to the river surrounding's.

This is a charming photo, probably one of your nicest. The boat looks great and has a lot of fine details, we see some human activities on board and maybe there is a tiger hiding somewhere in the jungle. Sharpness and colours are excellent.

Best way to see tigers I guess from a long way away having a picnic on a boat! Very colourful and nice tight frame. I love the grey in the sky contrasting with the colour.

Interesting we have the same river boats over here in South East Asia. Hopefully the one in the picture is safe and not overloaded. Every year we have some accidents due to overloading in South East Asia. Vivid colour hues and high sharpness. Well done

HI Farhat,

Satellite photos show the Sunderbans shrinking each year and this is a viable and ecologically sustainable way for locals to make a living, rather than cutting it down bit by bit and eventually be left with nothing and no buffer zone against cyclones. Really good and encouraging to see. The tigers will be happy too!

You're capturing well this scene by a good composition and excellent tone/clarity, so it's interesting and impressive to see the lovely riverboat with colorful frame and simple design. It's impressive in the mangrove forest with rich greenery of opposite shore, too. And, the reflection projected to the river draws out a good effect.

It is interesting the configuration of this boat being so wide at down. But seen laterally seems a thin one. So at down there is so spacy. Perhaps enough for people dance. But upstairs there are chairs and one table. How long lasts this cruise in the river? What's the name of the river? Certainly the cruise must be very pleasant according to people inside. question for you...so would these people here be locals or tourists?
and do tourists ever us it? My guess is that its mainly used by the people living here.
the boat has a strange but enjoyable look to it, with the strongly sharp curved bow, like a dagger.
I really enjoy your cultural shots from India, we learn so much from them.
