Photographer's Note
During a recent walk on the Lower East Side, I was very happy to find a new mural that really demands some attention. :-)
At the intersection of Bowery and Houston Streets, there is a large wall that serves as a rotating public art space. In April pop artist Ron English put up his latest creation, which includes a large, green baby known as Temper Tot.
This artist is known for exploring brand imagery and advertising, and has created some iconic and eye-catching figures. Surrounding the angry baby are well-known ads, that have been changed to convey a sarcastic, anti-corporate message that targets big business.
I have saved a small surprise for the workshop photo. Pulling back and viewing the entire mural, we find that it is not just a giant baby surrounded by ads, but something more. :-)

Hello Brenda,
This is a great photo of a fabulous wall. The angry green baby is superb and very cleverly painted. Surely there is a strong 3D effect. It was very amusing to study the various "ads". I like the diabetic Coke and the chicken breasts and the "In God we must trust". Without the inclusion of the real people in the corner (they are real, aren't they?) it would have been difficult to grasp this picture and its dimensions. I really wish we had superb graffiti like this where I live.
Kind regards,
Gert

Hello Brenda,
Looking at the main picture I would never guess the entire image represents the American flag.
This baby must be a child of the Hulk!
When passing by, this mural will certainly not remain unnoticed. What a colour explosion in the streets. Its dimensions are clearly shown with the inclusion of the people in the right corner.
Best regards, Paul

Hi Brenda,
This is awesome, I'm loving Baby Hulk! :) What a terrific, and super colorful shot of NYC city streets. I was just about to log off and thought I'd take a quick peek at the main gallery, and needless to say, this jumped off the page!
So much to take in here, and I love the fact you included a couple of people to have that human element and integration with the big, bold backdrop. As I had just mentioned to Serghei, you never know what you may come across with big city life...and that's what makes roaming the streets so much fun, and opportunistic with camera at the ready. :) Hope all is going well. The countdown clock is surely ticking. :) Take it easy.
Cheers from the West side,
Jason

Hi Brenda, quite some muscles for a baby.
I guess it is the sun of the Hulk. I le the way it is integrated in the big mural.
Thanks and regards,

Hi Brenda!
This one is just great, must be Incredible Hulk when he was a boy:)! I wouldn't miss it if I were there. Well composed with the people on the right and the wall is really interesting also.

Hi Brenda
wow...awesome!
I think I like the WS more...but then again this one is great too - they're both excellent.
obviously we get to see more details here with less of an idea as to what's going on...whereas the WS has far less details but we see the larger picture better.
a bit of good and bad in both.
you could actually spend lots of time investigating each little add in the flag here, its quite interesting indeed.
awesome post for nyc! this one's great!
love the look of the wide angle shot as we see the whole flag. so cool!
hope you're getting good weather!
cheers

I enlarged it on my Ipad and had fun for 10 minutes.
A lot of humor on the background.
The person to the right makes the picture work.

Hello Brenda,
This temper tot looks like the protege of the incredible hulk! A striking piece of street art for sure with impeccable sharpness and excellent color and saturation. Nice repetition of the rectangular bg posters. Tfs.

Hi Brenda
Oooh Hulk Baby! An interesting mural and I'm glad you captured the lady in the photo to provide a sense of scale and a good contrast. It would have been ideal if her feet had not been cut off in the frame, but we can't have everything in life. Nice work.
Warmest wishes

thats a beautifully seen and executed street shot. i like how you have given it a perspective with the lady positioned perfectly. and the shadows of the lights on the billboard look great too and gives a break.
