Photographer's Note

Of course, the Seine river in Paris is quite famous. Less famous but also intriguing is the Canal Saint Martin, at the eastside of the city center. During the day, a series of sluices bring ships down to (or up from) the water level of the Seine. Fun to watch, standing on one of the bridges across the canal. In the evening, the borders of the channel turn into a favourite hangout for the local youth, drinking and chatting and playing guitar.
