Photographer's Note

The Museumplein in Amsterdam houses several famous museums like the Rijksmuseum with its Rembrandts, the Van Gogh Museum and the Stedelijk Museum with its modern and contemporary art. The square has been restructured and restyled about a decade ago. The first critiques weren't very positive; people claimed that the architect had mistaken the dutch word 'plein' for plain instead of square. But through the years, the square has become a popular place for picknicking, lounging in the sun, playing soccer or volleyball with friends, and for special events. And on a random quiet and somewhat misty winter evening, the Museumplein definitely has its colourful charm too.
