鍸umbini - Meeting under the prayer flags�

The gardens around the Maya Devi Temple in Lumbini are a pleasant place to relax in a green environment.
Actually, Lumbini Park is quite large and you have to walk several kilometers to visit all the temples.

When I was there most of the visitors to the temples and monasteries were Nepalese or Indian.
I don't know what nationality these ladies have but they are clearly Hindu.
These ladies were very willing to pose for me and their colourful clothes and natural beauty did not let me hesitate.

Many photography enthusiasts wish to photograph ladies dressed in red.
That𠏋 not a problem in Nepal. The challenge there is to photograph a lady in blue :)
Mission succeeded ... but as you can see on the picture ladies in blue turn out to be a lot more timid than ladies in red � :)

And young female monks are not shy at all. See WS.

Nepal is a secular state where Buddhists and Hindus not only live together and tolerate each other but also share common aspects of worship in many respects.
A mutual respect exists for those who practice a different religion.
In 2011 81.3% of the Nepalese population was Hindu while 9.0% was Buddhist.

Hello Paul,
Possibly the nicest and brightest photo of the day. There are some very beautiful faces here, not to mention the ladies' clothes. The flags, even better seen in the WS, make a perfect complement. Whatever their nationality they all look like wealthy Brahmins.

Hello Paul, a lovely collection of very colourful pictures.
I like the young women looking straight at the camera, all except the lady in blue, and the children couldn㦙 really care less, which adds to the charm of the shot.
Several of your w/s pictures would have been good as a main post, but I guess that you take so many pictures, adding them in the w/ s is the best way of sharing them.

Het is inderdaad duidelijk dat wanneer je hier wilt opvallen je beter iets blauws kunt aantrekken. Een uitstekende foto van deze groep, die een ontspannen sfeer uitstraalt, zittend op het grasveld onder de vele kleurrijke vlaggen.

Nice series, the female monk taking a selfie would sell as a main upload without doubt. Talking about the main photo I like the relaxed feel on their faces. Nowadays, they would be more tense most probably. :)

Except for that one woman in black, this photo is an explosion of color. Some of the women even have bright lips and a bright handbag. The lady on the left wasn't enjoying having her picture taken, but I do like the color of her clothes. :-) Take good care!

The lady with a pink handbag in front draw to my attention straight away and the shy lady in blue. I find Asian women are very camera shy but this ladies...must be your charms I guess.
Theirs sarees as colourful as the prayer flags.
The young female monk taking selfie.....same happened to me I saw in Chiang Rai well it was a young male monk.

A beautiful photo, as it could not be less with this group of Indian beauties, all look at the camera except for the blue sari that seems to be not wanting to show itself, it is a very colorful group with their saris in which the pink and red tones dominate, curious all those cloths of various colors, lying on the ropes behind them.
The nun besides posing for you very smiling, she takes a selfie at the same time.

I feel I should also have taken this picture. They pose for ou of course but in a relax way. Nice colored sarees and lots of wrist rings and necklaces, that's the women way of life of this country.

A cool group portrait of these women and children. Nepal seems to be very colourful just like India. Lines of colourful fabric scarves look good. The one in black is a surprising exception.

that is an amazing group photo! The colors of the ladies clothes are so eye catching! Interestingly three of them wear a same color while other is more pink and another cyan. I wonder whether they agree what color they are wearing before going out?
