Photographer's Note

After our visit to Paris in August, we decided we should do that more often. It's not that far away from where we live really, and there's always plenty of things going on. So when our daughter suggested she might like to visit Paris for her birthday anbd we found the train tickets to be terribly expensive, my wife and I suggested we would drive her and her friend down to the French capital and then make it a weekend out for ourselves too.

THIS PICTURE was shot in the Grands Magazins area. The building at the back is the Printemps shopping gallery. With the gleaming sunlight streaming in, I was surprised by the weird yellow reflection/paint. Did this surface paint job go horribly wrong here? Is it a kind of unexpected street art? A mere optical illusion? No idea, but the effect was quite amazing.

Beauty should be admired, not understood.

Maar de gebouwen zijn zeker een foto waard.
Mooie architectuur ook het smeedwerk leuning aan het balkon valt echt op.

That's gorgeous! Looks like a very delightful place to wander through. The exquisite dappled light and bonus of striking yellow tones on the pavement is the icing on the cake! Superb capture of an enchanting location.

Hello Benny,

This one hit me so hard even in thumbnail size that I had to open it. The emphasis on the foreground is really good, while the bg. offers some interesting details.

I have to fave it. :)

Hello Benny, I am intrigued by the yellow effect on the road, it makes me think of the coloured light that often comes through stained glass in a church. Whatever it is it makes a fascinating addition to your picture.
