Village Wedding, a photo from Sumatera Utara, Sumatra

Photographer's Note

Taken in Lake Toba, Indonesia, I was cycling to this town, when I heard music and noise coming from this general direction. There was a traditional wedding going on! I don't know which part of the ceremony this is, but everyone was dancing in circles... there was even a person holding a huge video camera - you can see in the background. (looks very techy for a small village - kinda ironic!). The people are the traditional Batak who live in that village. Later on, I discovered that the WHOLE village was present at the wedding... when we were in town shopping, everyone recognized us.

Beatiful village wedding ceremony you got here, but there's a lot of distraction from the background, such as the videographer.
