Photographer's Note
This is your typical view looking westward on top of the Arch in St. Louis. We can see a fair bit from up here. The building in the foreground that looks like a state capitol building is actually part of the Arch or rather the Jefferson National Expansion Memorial which is run by the National Park Service. The round stadium on the left is Busch Stadium, where Major League Baseball's St. Louis Cardinals play. It opened May 12, 1966 and is due to be demolished any day now. I took a ground shot of Busch Stadium and you can see its days are numbered. Immediately to the left is the new Busch Stadium being readied for next season. Obviously Busch Stadium is named after Anheuser-Busch which is headquartered in St. Louis. Sorry no pictures of that!
I did post a workshop looking eastward which I find a far less interesting shot, just the Mississippi River, East St. Louis and Illinois.

You're right this is more interesting than the WS. It's a fantastic view, giving us so much to see, with lots of details. 40 years seems a short life for the stadium.

A comprehensive and detailed view of downtown St Louis, Steve. Interesting diversity of urban details with the stadiums, the capitol-style building and the modern highrises. Two technical remarks - the color look slightly oversaturated (but I may be wrong as I don't know the place), and it could be worth an attempt to correct the barrel distortion of the horizon. Nice catch; thanks for adding the WS photos.

Hi Steve,
Excellent view over the city layout from this elevated point, I like how the "capitol" and gardens contrast with the architectural style around, which emphasizes the idea of this place being the city center. The stadium adds an essential element in the layout and stresses the importance of sport events in the life of the city. You might have wanted to frame this one a little bit lower to preserve the base of the building to the right.
Have a nice week end,
Jean-Yves

Hi Stephen,
Perhaps one of your greatest panorama views on TE, also the sharpness and clarity its of very great quality, the same for the colours, I find two points is here a bit few, ten point is a lot better.
One of my favorite!
Have a nice weekend,
John

Hi Mr. Steve, A nice view from the top. Thanks for furnishing all the detailed information about the buildings. The extra info made this picture educational, in addition to the impressive sharpness and depth. I wonder that if "Bud" is the "official" drink in that stadium. I hope they sell soda and water as well.
Thanks for the photos in WS. I like the beautiful colors of this picture. Looking at the front part only, it looks like a model of the city. I enjoy this grand view. Thanks for making me know St. Louis better.

Bonjour Stephen,
Compliments.
Daniel.

Hi Stephen,
Again one of your razor blade pictures. Amazing that building in Neo-style surrounded by all that sky-skrapers. Great quality. I think I had cropped the sky.

Bonjour Stephen,

Hi Stephen, The geometry of American cities amazes me each time : Streets are so straight. Here we depart nicely from the blue/grey constants of concrete and glass. Sharpness and colorfullness are great in this view.

Hi Stephen,
I like urbain and town sceneries in landscape that you did and really you did di so well in a nice angle of view, from a high point and with depth and quality. The UV filter shows a good difference for better but the important is yoour experience and insight with this also ifferent picture of you.
Excelent enquadrement, colors and fine sharpness in a great composition type Postcard.
Very well done and composed. Congratulations and waiting for your anniversary at TE.

Hi Stephen - wonderrful panorama, the colours are fantastic, and we get a good sense of how flat the landscape is. That one highrise behind the "state capitol" does not belong there, a good example of poor urban planning.

Hola Stephen.
Beautiful view of St. Louis, the composition is great and you got an excellent perspective and depth. Sharpness is very good and thank you for showing us the Busch Stadium.

Hi Stephen,
This is just a superb composition, with an amazing amount of detail for the eye to manage. Yet it all comes together very well. The Memorial building certainly does resemble a capitol! I love all the different architectural designs here and how the beautiful gardens help balance and enhance. Your sharpness level is just right. A very successful shot, Steve. Its a keeper.

Hi Stephen,
Brilliant panorama!! There is so much to see with all the different kinds of buildings and must say that your guided tour is most helpful. I love the good variety of colours in the foreground and of course the details. I felt that I have just visited this place. Congratulations!!! Regards.

Hi Steve
A beautiful view over the roofs. This is fairly typical of american towns, with huge straight avenues, old buildings looking like small-scale models in the middle of sky-scrappers. With the round stadium, it reminds me the game "ages of empire" ...

Good one Stephen. I visited the ARch this winter and am quite amazed with its architecture. Unfortunately my pictures are not this colorful because of overcasting winter weather.

Hello Stephen!
I saw this view in 1983. I was an AFS exchange student! I lived in Colorado, but during my bus trip from Denver to New York, I stopped by St. Louis and went up this Arch! Some new buildings were built, but the view is just as marvelous and you have captured it wonderfully!
Congratulations!
