This is in Fez, Morocco. This is a tanner's and dyer's quarter. It is a delight to your eyes but a disgrace to your nostrils. It is a beautiful place to photograph.

It really is a beautiful place to photograph.
I like the simply and repetetitive round/square shapes.
Beautiful tones. And the man in work on the roof is a nice addition.
Excellent shot.

oh, the place is really great, hanging around for a while there with a camera can result in really great scenes...
I wish you caught more action there, maybe if the man was closer or at lest was facing your direction it would be better..
and a lot of details are lost in the picture, all light areas are blown out... harsh light...
anyway, very nice scenery

nice image Karin..I don't know Fez, but the tanner's quarter looks like the one in marrakech. Where you on top of a house...

I think I've been there, or one very similar. I think it's a shame about the person on the roof with the blue shirt and plastic... he takes attention away from the people below who are more interesting. You could try to get around this by either cropping him out or doing a post processed desaturation of the blue shirt and bag so they do not stand out so much.

Good shot. Your wide angle does the trick for this. I have a lot of pictures of this place, remember? I'll post mine later.

Anyway, the patterns make this shot engaging. And the shadows somehow makes the texture a bit apparent.

I think anyone who's been here remembers the smell of the tannery. I would have regognized this shot's locale immediately. Good picture.
