Photographer's Note
LOLA - is the Filipino name for Grandmother. My 94 year-old Lola is already blind, I even asked her to try opening her eyes but this is the best that she can. To empahsize on the lines on her face caused by old age, I played around with contrast and brightness. The colored version is also good but I converted it to monochome so that the purpose of showing her old age would be more emphasized. I applied final USM touches to give more crisp to the image.

Ed,
Thank you for sharing such a wonderful B&W portrait ! I can literally "feel" the almost 100 years this lady has experienced.
Your post processing successfully "underlined" her age.
Thanks !
Eric

Hello Ed.
Nice peace of work you got here. Great shot, great expression, great framing as well as postprocessing. Choice of b&w was perfect as well.

This portrait is fairly demanding of the viewer, but very powerful. I like the tight crop, and positioning of your Grandmother's face to one side of the frame.
