Hi dear TE friends

The Castle of S緌 Jorge (English: Castle of Saint George; Portuguese pron. IPA: is the Castle of Lisbon, the capital city of Portugal, and is located in the highest hill of the historic centre of the city. It is one of the main historical and tourist sites of the city.
Although the first fortifications on the Lisbon hilltop are known to date only from the 2nd century BC, archaeological research has shown that human occupation exists there at least since the 6th century BC, originally from autochthonous Celtic and Iberian tribes (with probable Phoenician, Greek and Carthaginian influences), afterwards Roman, Suevi, Visigothic and Moorish.

Hi Filipe, this is an excellent shot - composition and lighting are wonderful. I am green with envy - I've been trying to capture the moon in my photos quite a few times recently, but I've never got anything near as good as this. TFS, Colin.

Hello Filipe, this is a great night shot with the castle glowing a beautiful golden colour. The houses in the foreground contrast the modern with the ancient. And of course the moon really makes this a striking picture.

Interresting enough, when looking through your gallery I would have thought that this is the east-side of the Obidos castle. Since I have been in Obidos recently, I posted a picture of that castle here on TE to compare. I bet both castle have been built around the same time. I did not have the luck you had to have the moon in the frame, though...
Congratulations for this good shot, the long focal works well here.

Full moon over the impressive castle monument in Lisbon, Filipe.
A bit low lunar glare, well avoided, however it had darkened the illuination on rest of the iamage.
Looks mysterious scenery...

Oi Filipe,
Another beautiful picture of illuminations taken 6 years ago ! The effect given by the moonlight on the pitch-black sky and over the illuminated castle, is great !
Very good POV of the castle over the houses in the street below, whose lighting is subdued, enhancing the fortress above.
The quality of sharp isn't what you manage nowadays, but all in all, it's a good photo.
