Photographer's Note
Minneopa
Minneopa Falls ... Minneopa State Park .. near Mankato, Minnesota
Found a new place on my drive back from Minneapolis .. couldn't resist following a sign that said "Falls" .. and I was not dissapointed.
Minneopa is a Dakota word that roughly translates as "water falling twice" .. I was stunned to just stumble onto a fall of this size ..
directions and more info. (along with my source) from the Minnesota State parks at this site ...

It is a very nice photo. The POV is excellent and the water motion very good. Being the end of March, why is it so dry? I would imagine the surroundings being green and full of wild flowers. Well done.

Good morning John -
Wow, what surprising luck to find this double fall. This is a well crafted and executed image. I am not sure I like the muddy look to the fall but I guess that is just the filtered light falling on the water. Was this a RAW file? If so, did you try a cooler WB to see if you could remove some of the lighting effects? BTW, the veiling on the water is just perfect. The brush in the foreground was a nice touch to add more depth and interest to the image. Well done, bravo!
Thank you for sharing
John

Hi John, lovely - almost surreal photo of what looks like a beautiful place. You[ve handled the light well to get the effect on the water. Great composition. TFS. Paul.

Hi John,
Excellent spring time landscape with the twin falls cascading gently in the wonderful low light. The melting snow is giving you an exciting volume of water and the stark banks a reminder of winter's recent passing.

Hello John,
The waterfalls are seems like a silk from here. Long expose gives excellent effect to them. I like your good view while adding two beautiful waterfalls to your frame together. Congratulations.
Friendly Regards,

Hello John,
This is surrealism at its best. The crisp view of the twigs in the foreground in dramatic contrast to the soft focus in the waterfalls in the background. But then, there is that flash of light, evocative of the works of the 'Lumenous School' of 19th century paintings. This is a masterpiece, and one that deserves wide recognition.

Hi John,
A great capture of those wonderful falls. The motion blur of the falling water and its colour is very beautiful and you did a pretty framing.

Superb John with an effect very successful . My glance goes especially on water under the bridge, then I makes a WS to express my vision... I know that you does not like the framework then... I did it very small...
(excuse to me my English)
bien amicalement

John,
Well done, the 8 second is well chosen giving it a dinamic feel and good DOF too. I am going to add it to my favourite.

Nice shot John! I like the exposure, and the subject is also beautiful. It's too bad it's winter. You'll have to head back when there's some greenery--I can't imagine how beautiful it would be then. I'm sure you're really anticipating the spring just like the rest of us. Take care.
