Photographer's Note
Continuing the lecture on our mining region. We are now moving from one of the small mines the hidden in the forest to the big mother of them all in Falun. I will show you more of the mine in Falun later but for now we stick to the subject of using mining waste material.
The old parts of Falun, and many other mining towns, are full of buildings built with these kind of dark grey blocks. The blocks were cast in the metallurgy process using the melted reject from the process. As you can see on the right they can be a bit brittle and still contain some cupper to give that green color in the cut.

I like this green blue color of copper, wonderful color. Acyually this color is the copper's rust..
