Taken in the middle of the day with a ND8 Filter and using the spot meter. The Dornoch Firth is in the County of Sutherland, it's the most beautiful County up here in the Highlands. A hand held shot.

Nice B&W ! We could think that it has been taken by night !

A good mix of sharp reflections and soft sky tones. Exposure well under control with a towering sky. Nice b/w choice.

Hi Donald,

really good to see you back and hopefully there's more to come? This is a great shot, the texture in the clouds is wonderful and I like the heavy one just above the hill, that would have made an impressive photograph but to have the thinner clouds above as well just makes it an outstanding capture. A good choice to use B&W, very well done.

Noramally I prefer landscapes in full colours, but there are exceptions...
I think this is a good one, B&W enhances the drama in the cloudy sky and adds a tad of mystery to the way light is reflected off the lake...
Excellent textures and fine details!

It is so wonderful to see this .. you don't know how much I have been missing my highland fix ..

This is really nice .. The darkness is evocative .. the texture of the water is stunning .. the sky is great ..

I find it really interesting this horizontal place (narrow lake) in a vertical image ..
