Nice capture. The contrast is great, DOF also, black and blue works well, but what is that white shadow ? It "kills" the pictures. This is too bad.

The face works very well with hair and feathers against the sun, hand position is nice, but the white stripe on top is not necessary and the white "fog" (is it?) doesn't add to the ensemble for me.

I'm not sure about the white obstruction at bottom, but you captured a great pose by the cos-play girl.

This is an amazingly well photographed portrait! I just love this kind of work, but I think after cropping the white upper part it will be (even more) perfect...
(I just tryed a WS to re-frame the photo)

This is a great shot and I like it just as it is...the framing works nicely. The top gives us an impression that we're looking through bars at this young lady...a different perspective is always nice. Anyway, well done!

I keep coming back to see if I can add a useful critique, but aside from a little cropping, I think this is a great photo.

This is very nice. I don't know what the white misty area is at the bottom, but it adds to the shot. The colours are great and the composition good. I personally would crop the light area at the top as I don't think it adds to the shot. If anything I find it a bit distracting. Otherwise, once again, I think this is a very nice shot. Well Done!
BTW, is this in your "Japan sakura" travelogue by mistake. A good number of shots in this travelogue seem to have nothing to do with Sakura.

My words can't add anything to this great and mysterious photo! Very Beautiful

Main subject is superb, but I think cropping out the white line at the top would help. I don't personally feel that the fogging / fade at the bottom adds anything.
darque_rain (30) 2003-07-10 11:22
that's a nice one ! the subject and the picture are very very nice. The "fog" effect is a little strange in the picture and I think it doesn't affect it in a bad way...

Its nice foto, dof & the colors blend nicely but the white reflection at the bottom is unfortunate & unwelcomed shadow....

Un des plus beaux portraits sur le site. Un seul regret: n'avoir pas pris la photo moi-même.

how much cultures are here ? It 's very interesting for a sociological approach of Japan and fashion. All the more it's esthetically delicious. Wonderful.

very good picture, very artistic! i think that the white shadow at the bottom adds to the mystery of the capture. thus i'm not agree at all with those who criticise it.
welldone!

Cette tache blanche en bas nuit un peu à l'ensemble, dommage.
Il n'en reste pas moins une photo de toute beauté. Magnifique.

intense mysterious pose you captured.
but a note on the top and bottom blurr would have helped to understand further your take on your subject.

Good capture. I like the color and contrast between them. Good use of DOF as well. However the white portion on top and the fog at the bottom can be cropped. TFS.

Very professional! The colours are crazy, would never expect those colours on a human being! ;) You captured her very well, great contrasting!
