Photographer's Note
From the same morning as the picture - my church -. Just walked around the surroundings of my local church a foggy morning in september. A small practice in lines and composition. Does it work?
added contrast, small crop and sharpening.

A very artistic way to handle white sky and turn it into an advantage in your composition. Very good use of b/w and very nicely framed. Well done, Terje.

Im not a fan of the big frame, but I love the shot. The b/w, the haze and the scene are very dreamy. Excellent tones. Well composed with the diagonal wall leading to the home and the tree to one side. Nice.

Nice perspective and composition.
I'm just missing some details in this white sky.

I love the stone wall and how it forms a "v" with the line of small trees. The mood on this shot is fantastic. One small nitpick: where the large tree (and even the smaller ones to some degree) meet the sky, it seems a little digital (for lack of a better word).

Not as successful as your previous post on the subject, I still like it though, perhaps because my head is filled with that kind of fog these days ;o)
I can't help focusing on the contrast of shapes of the trees on the left side of the fram on both compositions. The first one perfectly round shaped, and this one perfectly vertical.
The white sky occupies perhaps a bit too much of the frame. If you had stepped backwards, perhaps you would have been able to get it on only the upper third, and still have the entire tree.
But well...it is about fog anyway...so let it be allover..

I do like you leading lines of the stone wall, the smaller trees and the jagged taller trees in the background, all leading to the vanishing point on the middle right. Tone scale of the stone wall is great. Quite a bit of blank white fog? But cropping is not the answer, so you probably couldn't have done much, unless you didn't include the tall tree. Good shot!

i like these b&w shots terje! the contrasts in the foreground is so sharp and well balanced... i like the compo using the diagonal towards the top right side of the frame... very well done again;-)
do you work on b&w films or digital?

A finely balanced image Terje, good range of tones and nice contrast between the hard foreground and softer background.
Very delicately done.

this is beautiful terje..
it brings ot my mind :the mending wall" by robert frost . perhaps it's because ot the nice black and white tone as well
it really is a beautiful photograph terje, but i wonder why you gave it a squarish crop. to be honest im not very fond of these crops, not that i start to like your photograph anylesss because of this crop, but maybe i would like it even more with a normal horizontal crop. you stay in a lovely area. im pretty jealous :))
take care
