Muslims on the ghats at dawn, a photo from Uttar Pradesh, North

Photographer's Note

The ghats of Varanasi in the early morning are fascinating for strolling, people-watching and photography. I was lucky to see not only Hindus at puja but these Muslim gentlemen absorbing the morning sun.

I have compacted the color leves a wee, small bit and sharpened by 25 points using the Gimp. Comments appreciated, particularly on the frame.

Came across this photographs saw only 4 views and not comments since october 2007..

I think this photograph of yours deserves more attention and may be critique too..

Excellent photograph, natural colors and good contrast of the background and the white of the dress by these gentlemen.. good sharpness and very good choice of frame..Looks like the old gentleman telling his lifes experiences and the young ones listening to him..

You are right about the ghats of Varanasi, they are very fascinating and great for photography. Nice moment captured with soft light and good contrast between the men and the wall. Well done.
