- Greetings to all of you trekking the Earth with camera in hand. What I've seen so far has both impressed and humbled me.
I'm a native Californian transplanted nearly half a lifetime ago to Japan, and in Tokyo since 1982. I've been a writer and editor for most of my working existence, taught multimedia for a while, and was the communications director at the American Chamber of Commerce in Japan for almost six years. I started my own business, Fresh Eyes Communications, at the beginning of 2005.
During past incarnations as a magazine editor I've seen my fair share of great photography accompanying stories. While I don't consider myself a photographer, occasionally I'm conscious enough and lucky enough to shoot something that seems worth passing on. I confess to being a technical illiterate--f-stops, exposure and similar concepts don't seem to stick to my teflon-coated brainpan--so I trust my camera a lot. Maybe being part of this group will change me for the better.
In any case, I look forward to getting feedback on my shots and returning the favor. - Member Since
