Photographer's Note
Another shot from the floating market in Damnoen Saduak.
this market is located 110 km away from Bangkok, and it is very beautiful.
Day in and day out from about 8 a.m. to about 11 a.m. the Floating Market is routinely crowded with hundreds of vendors and purchasers floating in their small rowing boats selling and buying or exchanging their goods. What they purchase are particularly food, fruit and vegetable which mostly brought from their own orchards. They usually travel on their small rowing boats. however; today the long-tailed boats pushing by engine become very popular. People tend to use them instead. Anyhow because of the shortage of fuel today long-tailed boats are quite unavailable compared to a few years ago.
I'm wondering what the powder this woman has on her face is, and what it is for. if anyone can help me...

La poudre sur son visage, je pense que ca doit etre pour se proteger du soleil ou une creme pour s'hydrater ? Cependant ce qu'elle vend a manger semble tres appetissant.
Jolie capture, plein de details.

Great photo. Nice clarity. It is makeing my mouth water!
As most people have guessed the white stuff on her face is whitening cream. I do not believe it really does anything except make them look silly but Thais are obsessed with looking white. To be dark is to be of a lower working class. The cream is supposed to make their faces permanently whiter. :)
